Source file/dir/size counts
Aggregate counts. Where source limits apply, five more fields carry the caps and usage against them (max_files_per_context, max_bytes_per_context, max_bytes_per_file, used_files, used_bytes); they are absent otherwise.

Section titled “Authorizations”AuthorizationstringrequiredSession token from POST /auth/login, sent as Authorization: Bearer <token>.
Headers
Section titled “Headers”X-Pinecone-Api-Version?stringDate-based contract version, echoed back on the same header. Omit for the default (2026-07); send unstable for the in-development surface. An unrecognized value is rejected with 400 unsupported_api_version.

Response
Section titled “Response”200 — Counts
Source-tree counts, plus the caps and the usage against them where source limits apply.
file_countintegerrequiredFiles in the tree.
dir_countintegerrequiredDirectories in the tree. Counts the ancestor prefixes of the stored objects, so a store with no standalone directories still reports one per level that holds a file.
total_sizeintegerrequiredSummed byte size of every file.
max_files_per_context?integerUpper bound on how many source objects may be staged.
max_bytes_per_context?integerTotal-byte cap for this context.
max_bytes_per_file?integerUpper bound on one stored object.
used_files?integerFiles counted against max_files_per_context.
used_bytes?integerBytes counted against max_bytes_per_context.
